I photograph nature to inspire connection that leads to coexistence and conservation.

đź‘‹ I'm Fabio Ueno

Wildlife conservation photographer based in Berlin

I create images that transform how people see and value the natural world. My photography focuses on the intimate moments and authentic encounters that reveal wildlife's character and resilience, building the emotional bonds necessary for lasting conservation action.

My story

From nature lover to conservation storyteller

I didn't grow up with a camera in hand or any formal training in photography. Instead, it started with long hikes—weekend escapes into forests and hills, where I began noticing light, shapes, and silence in new ways. I started bringing a camera to try and hold onto those fleeting moments, and slowly, photography became part of how I move through the world.

As I spent more time outdoors, I became increasingly fascinated with the rhythms of nature—sunrise over a quiet ridge, a fox slipping through the underbrush, the changing colors of alpine trails. These moments fueled my desire to improve as a photographer and deepen my understanding of the wild.

After several moments in nature, I understood that photography could be more than documentation—it could be a bridge. These quiet encounters held the power to change how people see and value wildlife.

Today, my approach is grounded in patience, respect, and humility. I wait for the right moments, allow animals to be comfortable in my presence, and seek to capture what makes each species remarkable. Rather than simply creating beautiful images, I craft visual stories that help people discover wonder in creatures they might otherwise overlook.

My vision is simple: when people truly connect with wildlife, they naturally want to protect it. Every photograph I take works toward that goal—one story, one species, one moment of wonder at a time.

My approach

Built on authenticity, patience, and respect

My work is driven by genuine connections with nature and a deep respect for every species I encounter. I believe in slowing down, observing carefully, and waiting for moments of trust between humans and wildlife. This patient, thoughtful approach allows me to capture the character and resilience that makes each creature remarkable.
